What is an AI CFO?
An AI CFO is software that does part of a finance lead's analytical work: reading a model, a ledger or a board pack, answering questions about it, and drafting the written account of what it shows. It is not a person, it does not hold a licence, and it does not carry the accountability a CFO does.
What it can do
- Read a financial model or pack and say what it shows and what it assumes.
- Check a model's logic: whether cash and EBITDA reconcile, whether an assumption flows through.
- Draft a board report or a memo from the file.
- Rank risks in a diligence pack.
- Answer cash and runway questions on stated assumptions.
What it cannot do
- Replace an auditor, a tax agent, a solicitor or a licensed adviser.
- Know facts that are not in the file. A good tool marks them as missing rather than estimating them.
- Take responsibility for a decision. Directors and officers do.
Decision support, not advice
Decision support helps the person deciding see the file clearly. Advice tells them what to do and carries professional liability. The line matters because a fluent answer can feel like advice. A responsible AI CFO says which statements are facts from the file, which are assumptions, and which need local professional validation.
How CFO Sentinel Pro works
CFO Sentinel Pro turns a question and a file into a board-ready record. Ask is one bounded question on the pack. Review ranks the pack when it must be ranked. Deep Review is for the paper that leaves the room. Facts are separated from assumptions, cash from EBITDA, and the jurisdiction is named. Statute-level conclusions are marked Requires Local Validation.
It is institutional work, not a trading terminal: private equity and LBO models, board packs, runway and cash, and diligence. A stopped run is not charged. New accounts get 150 free credits, with no card required.
